There is a guy on craigslist in my area selling a 2007 silverado RST that looks really nice. He is claiming he's getting 600hp out of a 5.3L. I figured that might be legit with a supercharger or turbo, but he says it's all motor. I'm wondering if he's bullshitting or if it's possible. I guess anythings possible with enough work and money. What do you guys think?

did they make the jon moss edition in 07? it's possible with a 5.3 head work and F/I & a few other things (injectors, cam, maybe a nice pnp on the heads) i mean anything is possible i just wouldn't do it without seeing his dyno sheet...where you at in NY is that LI or upstate? if it's LI i'll take a ride out there with you in the REAL RST haha

 

it is in upstate ny. He was asking 35000. He told me it was all motor, no forced induction. What exactly is a RST (not to sound stupid, just thought it was another package offered)? I was going post the link, but he took it off after I asked a couple questions, unless it sold.

 

rst is from regency conversions in Texas. spoiler, stripes, bumper, shorty headers and exhaust. unless he did some SERIOUS work to it, it doesn't have 600 ponies. and it damn sure isn't worth 35k.

 

yeah because if it's a true RST it's a 4.8 5spd. & he aint seein 600 hp...but even if it is the 5.3 Auto then he still aint seein 600 hp w/o FI
