2500lb trailor
3500lb car
4.8 w/ CAI
3.73s +33'' tires
no trailor brakes.
should be nice driving 50-55mph on the highway for 3 hours. Were gonna leave late at night (2am) so we dont have much to worry about. 4 hours of this
anyone done this? how was it?
luckily are there almost zero hills to speak of. And in 3rd I should be right around 2200rpms so its a nice place to be. If i go upto 60 it should put me in a good place in the powerband.

When we went to the SBSO, we hauled my truck on a U-haul trailer with a stock ECSB 4.8. My truck weighed in at 4380 with me in it at the SBSO. There were 4 of us and lots of crap too. THe 4.8 surprised me actually. It pulled it nicely in 3. My bud was running about 70, but when I drove I ran about 65. 65 is right about 2700 rpm and 70 is right at 3k. I think we got something around 11mpg on the way back.

( have fun with warped rotors when you get back
)1. Lifetime warranty at autozone
2. they may not be good enough but making them worse wont help anything
I expect to eat through rotors with my carbon metalic pads. but who cares, both the rotor and pad have lifetime warranty at autozone so I dont really care. My $$$ is going into this car

TreyZ28,
I pulled 6700lbs + another 1200 or so in the bed (safe) when I moved my crap from NC to GA. 2500 Silvy 4x4 and no trailer brakes. No power problems with the 6.0/3.73, but that's still a lotta damn weight for just the truck brakes. Just plan stops in advance & allow plenty of room in front. Had some mountain portions in W. NC but really performed like a champ even driving 70+ on the highway. Based on the info you gave, your truck should
do fine because you're talking less weight. Look out for the A holes, we all know there's plenty of them on the road.

I tow my Camaro about 3300lbs, with a trailer that weighs about 1000lbs with my 4.8 and 3.73s. I just go to the track, but its uphill the whole way there. It does fine, I just keep tow/haul on and leave plenty of room in front of me. It'll do 75mph in 4th with ease, I've even passed before. Hehehe.
Trailer brakes wouldn't hurt, but it stops okay.
If the trailer is equiped with them, spend the 50 bucks and get the controller...if its not, then leave some room.
