Default should I have used a longer push rod?

I was thinking about when my truck was on the dyno and how loud it was. It was making really good power. But it was so load , like something was going to blow up at 6000rpm. I was wondering why? I have the z06 cam, 6.0 heads with 3 angle valve job, 918 springs, on a stock 5.3 bottom end. I am just wondering should I have used a longer push rod? I am about to buy some Harland Sharp roller rockers 1.7. I was going to go with the 1.8 rr but my springs are only good up to 600 lift. Zo6 cam is a 550, the 1.8 would put me at 582 lift (est.) I dont want to get valve float. So I think the 1.7 is better. The harland sharp roller rocker puts alittle more weight on the valvetrain, but I think I will be ok! Any info? Thanks Bryan

COil bind on the 918s is 600 lift you will be fine with 582. Many people are using them on bigger than 600 lift but with titanium retainers and are fine. Alot of people compalin about the noise the 918s make mine didnt realy make that noise but some do maybe you are hearing that.

Yeah! that could be it. So you dont think I would get valve float with high boost ? Has anyone got valve float with the 918's and a high lift cam?

Mjhoward is pushing 13#s with his radix with 918s up to 6600 sometimes I forget the lift numbers but they in the high 550s or 560s. No valve float on his truck and it hauls ***. Good enough to hurt a modded lightning at the track yesterday
