if your talking about the grantinelli.. dont do it... its really a waste of money. Doesnt show any real gains. I'm not sure if all ls1 maf's will fit, but i beleive those are much cheaper if you find them used and you'll probably benefit over your stock one with an ls1.

I've heard the granatelli leans out really bad or something like that. I don't think a MAF is really needed until you start making crazy hp anyway.

if you're looking at going with an aftermarket, you could just as easily take your lighter out and set the few hundred bucks on fire. there is little to no gain on the aftermarket maf's. in very high flow applications you might notice a few hp gain such as 400+hp, but even then it's so minimal it's a waste of time and money.

Everything that I've heard and read about messing with the MAF has been negative. Whether it be replacement with an aftermarket or home modification such as de-screening, the results usually range from negative to zero, if you're lucky.

leave it alone...just walk away.

only time i've heard of people gaining from an MAF swap is on my old 02 Lancer. people would swap the MAF out with a 3g Eclipse MAF and it allowed them to run Apexi S'AFC and have the ability to ADD FUEL...withthe stock MAF they could just subtract it. one guy gained 15whp with it...

but look to spend money on other things first, cams, gears, headers, exhaust before u worry about MAF

Yeah I know, the way he worded it, it sounded like putting on a MAF because we dont' have one. Just like in the Fox 5.0s, the early ones ( I believe the 87-90) didn't have MAFs but the 90-93 did and there's a MAF conversion for the older ones. You know, you could always do speed density tuning...
