Default shortys vs LTs?

I have a 2001 rcsb with 4.8 and im in the market for headers. Which would make the biggest power gain shortys or LTs? Just wondering what you guys would have to say.

I would not go as far as to say that BUT if there are no legal reasons to keep you from buying long tube headers, do it. I only gained ~10hp over the JBAs but the difference was enough at the track that I never looked back to the swap from the shortys.

i think that the best setup is doin a search, there has been an abundance of header threads this month.and had you done a search then you would know that almost of the headers for our trucks come with a y pipe

i have Gibson shorties on my 5.3. although i put them in at the same time with a mailorder tune, i honestly cant say how much they improved the power. i honestly doubt they are truly a waste of money, but if i could start over again, i would definitely pick the LT's over shorties.

Well if you live in cali or somwhere where you have to smog every so often and have to be legal shorties would prolly give you some gains, but the stock exhaust manifolds flow pretty good.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here but I'd go with cats along with the longtubes. As a daily driver, I absolutely hate the gas smell inside the cabin of the car. And anyone who tells you it doesn't seep into the cabin, especially if you are heating your winshield or something is lying to you.
