Anybody put a shift light in their truck yet? I think one of those small Harlan lights would be pretty cool. A perfect spot for it on 2wd trucks would be in that worthless little cubbyhole where the 4x4 pushbuttons are supposed to go.

I put mine in my air duct just behind the vent. It worked great. You could not tell it was there and at night only I could see it because of the angle of the vent. This was in my camaro when I had it and I wanted to keep a clean interior. I wouldn't do it anywhere else now that I but it in that spot the last time.
I installed the rpm switch in the console...but in the truck the glove box would probably work out better.

As slow as these trucks are you could just use the sun for a shift light.. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> <img src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" border="0" alt="[jester]" />

Had a HPP3 on my '99. It always ran slower if I let the computer do the shifting for me. If I manually shifted it, it would ET better (unless I banged the rev limiter). My idea is to set the rev limiter at the 6200 maximum and set the shift light at ~6000. I only need it for first gear anyway, since I'll hold second gear thru the traps.
Whatcha think guys? Waste of time or what? <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />

Waste.
But if you do it, you need one of those 6" 15,000 RPM dash mounted tachs to double check your standard dash tach. You could install a boost gauge too.
