Default SES light!

on my 2000 silverado, 5.3, i have 130,000miles on it. for the first time i got a Service Engine Soon light!? i have a k&n fipk, HPPIII, and thats it. and i have had these mods for bout 9months. and i noticed the other day that it was a little sluggish, just slightly or i just started to notice it?? im gettin it scanned today, so ill have the results tomorrow. since gas has gone up i baby it all the time!! so i can count how many times i went WOT on one hand so... its goin to cost me $40 to get it scanned. i hope its nothin major!!!!

dang! i didnt know that! oh well i already got it scanned from a local shop. the guy has helped me out and saved me enough money in the past. but it was code #po332 i think. Knock sensor. do they only have 1 knock sensor?? i went and got him to order it anyway $37. so im lookin for bout $77 !! man i like ur truck 900z1, that looks nice! my bro has one like that except its black. and has 3:73's and he is workin on his 3rd tranny! haha he doesnt take care of it.. i want to get my windows tinted but insurance and truck note is killin me!!

they have 2 knock sensors, you have to take the intake manifold off to get to them

Can't remember now if the 99-00 trucks had the false knock issues or just the 99 models.
Either way there is an updated computer flash and I think knock sensors that solve the issue ( altho with 130K it could really be a bad one ).
Check out www.LS1howto.com for info on replacement. Not very hard but be careful of the torque values for the intake bolts. It is very low, like 44 inch/pounds ( not ft/lbs!!!!! ).

U mean to tell me i have to take the intake manifold off to get to both knock sensors! whats the sensor on the driver side bank, inbetween #1 and #3 cyl??

I believe the Knock sensors are placed inbetween the two engine banks, here is a pic

Correct, pull the intake manifold. The pic Wilde sent is perfect.
The sensor you are seeing is the water temp.

i got code p0332 bank 2 knock sensor. which sensor is that? i only orderd one sensor. about how long does it take to remove the intake manifold and what do i need to take off or unhook? thanks!!!
