Default Servos?

Excuse me if this is a dumb question but, I see a lot of trucks w/ billet or corvette servos, what are they for? How do they help? Would they help my truck?

Depending on which one you get, they give you a firmer 1-2 shift or firmer 3-4. I have the 1-2 and like it. I dont know forsure about the 3-4 one, Im sure if im wrong someone will catch it lol.

they're easy to install. Installed with the trans in the truck, and they're on the out side of the trans.

- you will get oily, use the search up top.

corvette servo is for your 1-2 shift only, less slipping on the 1-2 shift, and less heat, and more firm

"billet" servos are for 1-2 and 3-4. They are larger in size, and shift even harder, and they're more expensive.

Thanks for the info. My truck has the H.D. 6 speed auto, are they compatible with it and/or do I need them w/ this trans?

Servo's are in all automatic transmissions. You can upgrade them if you want, can only help.

Not all transmissions have servo's. Servo's simply apply a band. The 6L80-6L90 trannys don't have any bands, all shifts are clutch to clutch. So there are no servos. They also have no accumulators, they have a PC sol. for every shift.

I would reccomend the servos, just for the "maintenance" aspect of it. They help prolong the tranny. Anything helps especially with the 4l60E
