same cam in 5.3 vs ls1 5.7
#1
If you where to put a tr224 in a 5.3 versus an ls1 5.7 what would the differences be as far as rpm range, drivability, mpg etc...
looking to put it in my 5.3 sierra but dont want to loose lower tq numbers will the stall make up for it
have 3k stall

the heads are being milled .05 with bigger valves, Im hoping the 224 will be good in this setup
Im worried about piston to valve I cant afford to do this again or kill the motor

The rpm range will stay the same, given the same head/cam/intake. The 5.3, 5.7, & 6.0 use the same stroke. The smaller piston (bore) will only shroud the valves more, causing you to use the smaller valve given (1.89). Tucking a 2'' might not be the best idea.
The TR224 wont be your best choice either for low end torque.
