Default S&B Cold Air Intake Kit

Anyone use them?
Getting ready to do a list of mods for a friend of a friend,I have liked UPD but they no longer exist.I hate K&N kits or any like it with an open top.
Anyone try this S&B?

I would choose the S&B. It looks alot better IMO. I have experience with neither but from a visual standpoint S&B

They're all the same anyways. Just buy which ever one you think you'll like best a roll with it. I personally have the Volant which looks alot like the S&B and I like it I guess. But I agree with you, K&N sucks especially if you're on dirt roads as much as i am.

I think that the Outlaw CAI is pretty popular with the SS crowd over at SilveradoSS.com, if I remember correctly...

We put an Outlaw intake on a friends stock Z71 at the track. He made some passes with the stock box, then switched to the Outlaw. He picked up a little over a tenth and when he checked gas mileage, actually picked up over 2 mpg. I dont know anything about the S&B, but the Outlaw seemed like a nice piece.

I prefer the outlaw. I agree that the S&B looks better but i have seen several fitment issues with them. I sell both, but have had zero problems with the outlaw. I run one on my radix truck, then one on a family members tahoe. They are great. Check my sig for a link to them.

the SB intake looks good under the hood but you gotta clean it a bit to keep it looking good.

I personally use the K&N b/c I like the quality of their filters and parts(except their atv filters). I opted to build a custom stainless box for mine to keep out the hot air mainly and keep away some dust. but IMO if you're going down a dirty road, you're gonna get some dust in there.

Dub, does the outlaw require oil on the filter? I've been considering the AEM Bruteforce, but I am concerned about dirt and dust issues.
