Default runnin into some header problems for the ls7.. help

well some of you may have seen my thread a couple weeks back where i said that i was building a full blown bagged and body dropped showtruck on 22's with an ls7.. well i thought up a problem yesterday.. i heard i could run normal pacesetter longtube headers on the ls7 which i had planned on.. but i got to thinkin.. with the truck bein body dropped (to the rockers) i will be driving it just a couple of inches off of the ground.. will i have issues with the longetubes dragging like on the fbodys? if so should i look into some shorty headers? or just stick with the stock headers on the ls7?

That LS7 exhaust manifold/header looks like it will outflow any shorty on the market. I'd just stick with that, just my $.02

My dynatechs tuck up to the frame, the y-pipe is a little low though. I think the same is true with the pacesetters. Someone posted up some shots from underneath a while back, I think it was Scream.

question would be why, keep truck at resonable height and you wont have issues with headers

There is nothing on the Pacesetter header/ORY setup that hangs below the frame at all

If nothing hangs below the frame rail you should be fine. IMO, I would have a custom set of 1 7/8" headers and exhaust built to handle what the LS7 can dish out. After shelling out serious coin for that motor I wouldn't short change it by putting on the headers you are considering. Either have someone build some custom headers or stick with the factory LS7 manifolds. I can't imagine how bad the port mismatch would be on the LS7 heads versus Pacesetters anyway. Again, IMO...

Here's a pic of the exhaust gasket... the exhaust ports on the LS7 are HUGE!

I agree. Custom headers will be expensive, but worth it. I think that the factory ls7 manifold would make more HP than a set of 1.75" pacesetters.
