Default rev limiter, and shift rpm

I am ordering a custom tune next week. What rpm should I have the rev limiter reprogrammed to? What rpm do you guys recommend I shift at? Check my signature for mods. Thanks in advance

most of the tuners have there own preferences. i think on a bolt on 5.3 about 6000 is max. but i think there are them that are spinning it higher.most tuners will go 6000 1-2 and 5800 2-3.

I got my best times by setting the rev limiter to like 6800rpm and setting my shift points as such that I could run the 1/4mile and never hit 3rd gear.

It changes the faster you get. I used to shift 1st at 5900 then 2nd at 6200... By the time I had the big cam and full tune I was shifting 1st at 6500 then tapping the rev limiter just after crossing the finish line at 6700rpm or so.

also if you are planning on using nitrous i know my friend gained time by lowering his shift points he shifts at like 5800 and ended up gaining a couple of tenths in the 1/8 mile otherwise like the other guys have said spin it higher or if you get a cam and headwork and no nitrous spin it higher
