Ok, so since the deal fell through on the 5.3, i have been thinking more about a 6.0/4l80e swap. Lets start with what i do know... I know the 6.0 will physically bolt in, and run, and that i should have it tuned to get the most out of it, and that i will have to get a different driveshaft. My questions come with the tranny... what would it take to get it in there? I would figure that i would have to change the crossmember, and maybe cooler lines, but do these trucks still have the seperate tranny controller, like the older trucks, or is it in with the engine computer? either way, will i need to change anything there, or are they the same? How about the wiring harness for it? Also, i might just say the hell with it and sell it, so does anyone know where would be a good place to get a 5.3 for decent cheap around western NC? besides junkyards/dismantlers?

Your best bet on the 4l80e swap would be to contact our sponsor speed eng. because they have the swap kits and that would make your life alot easier. How much power are you gonna push? a FLT 4l60 would prob. get the job done if not try there 65e if you would go this route it would be cheaper because it would be a direct bolt in, no modifications needed. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks, if i go that route i will try them. it would probably be fairly stock maybe cam, headers, the reason i was gonna even swap is i can be hard on transmissions, and the 4l60 in the truck now is slipping already. thanks again for the help
