Reason to hold onto cats?

Reason to hold onto cats?
Is there any reason to hold onto my cats after I installed my ORY? I'm in KS, no inspections right now. I have the opportunity to sell my old full stock exhaust but I'm contemplating keeping my cats, I guess just in case I need them some day.

The technology of today's cats are so advance that adding them will not yield nearly what they used too. I have 1 7/8 headers with a 3" ORY then a 3" Magnaflow catback that exits in the stock location and before cats it was loud and raspy! Sounded good but really got annoying on the highway and WOT sounded like a trumpet with the walking farts. Recently I added a magnaflow 3" cat ( just 1 ) in the intermediate pipe and it tamed the sound and gave the truck a very unique note. I absolutely love the way it sound now, so If you ask for my opinion, yes, add the cat(s).
From a performance standpoint. Yes there was a slight difference in power/torque! It was noticeable, but not enough to really worry about. On a street vehicle I would sacrifice a little power for a better exhaust tone, and a vehicle that wont stink up a drive through from idling. Even with the overlap of my cam, the smell exiting the truck isn't too bad.
I'll be putting the Bassani catback I have back on here pretty soon! The magnaflow catback sounds pretty good, but I love the bassani sound.
