I have my truck in the shop today getting the 3.73 gear put in. I just got a call from the shop and it looks like my spider gears are showing wear and pitting (no surprise there). It looks I'll be putting an Eaton PosiTrac in as well.

 

Jim, how's that Hpp 3 doing? Did it give you noticable power increase?

I've got a used G80 if you want it.

 

The ol' butt dyno tells me it is pretty good. I can now turn the tires over for a few feet. The tranny mods it allows are cool. I reprogrammed with it again last night when I got the truck home from the differential shop. It is a good start.

 

Question on the Eaton and new gear. I hear lots of guys will take it easy for 500 miles. Any thoughts on this?

 

i was told to put a 100 miles on it and then let it cool completely. after that he said get into it.
