If you really dont want to run a different torque converter, I would go with the 212/218. better torque over stock and pulls better up top.

its also my daily driver, my only future mods so far will be a ported t/b and longtubes, and a dyno tune. I'm really just looking for some more hp/tq for around town. I'll probably eventually get gears and a torque converter but i dont plan on it being anytime soon.

And i haven't really put much thought into a custom cam..

I also DD mine, tight 3k stall, 3.73's and the 216/220 comp cam that was mentioned earlier with milled 243 heads.

That Tahoe is going to be a heavy pig. The TSP220 is going to be too much cam for your stock converter if you don't want to lose anything on the low end. The long tubes will move your powerband to the right slightly. So I would say start with a cam around the specs of the 212/218 low lift. Will work with the LS6 springs, and produces good low end torque

I agree with Denton. 212/218 will work fine with the stock converter and make great low end tq fo yo hoe.

Hows ur idle with the comp cam? And if I ran that cam and ls6 springs, stock head gasket thickness and recommendations on pushrod length? I'm not trying to half *** this but with it being my DD i dont really have time to pull it all apart and check the pushrod length then wait a week for the right ones to arrive ya know?

99% of the time the 7.4 pushrods will work. If you plan on racing and spending alot of time in the upper RPMs is when you really need to check lifter preload.I had my heads milled .025 and used a 7.375 pushrod.

I don't race or hotrod it alot but i do get on it every now and again. I plan on taking to it the track atleast once. As of right now i'm almost set on running the 212/218 low lift comp cam, with ls6 springs. I just want a nice lopey sound and i'm afraid this cam isnt gonna do it for me. I've always wanted something "cammed" and now i finally have the money and chance to do it, i dont wanna fck it up lol.

Also am i gonna notice a nice difference in hp/tq? I know the tsp 220r cam claims 25-30 hp increase?
