If you lived closer to me I would help you with the swap myself or at the very least point you in the direction of trustworthy people/members, but seeing as your closer to Texas and that's not really an area that I'm that familiar with...
I'd suggest you post up in the Texas section that your looking for someone (within X amount of miles from the N.M. border) who'd be interested in helping you do a motor swap and offer like $600 + food and beer. There's a lot of guys who can turn a decent wrench who are hard up for money right now with the way the economy is.
I'll PM you a few names that you might want to ask as they know better who's out there and could possibly help you out.

An LS1 can go to 382" with a stock bore and 4" crank... So a 4.8/5.3 block can do the same thing with just a little bore (3.905ish) and the same crankshaft. Like I said in my first post you'd be miles ahead just dropping in more cubic inches.

I've got a 2005 LQ4 for sale from throttle body to oil pan with harness and PCM.... They're not laying all over the place like they used to be but they're still out there.

If you like the deal and you think you may use it later (maybe even on a 6.0 build) you might as well buy it. Can't hurt. If it were me, I wouldn't sell it to anybody until I figured out what I was going to do with my truck.
