Raced last night and want more hp
My dad calls me at 10:00pm lastnight and he said he just raced a GMC 1500 2wd ext.cab shortbed that was lowered.Well he said they started racing at 40 mph and didnt stop until 90 mph,my dad beat him but he to past them even faster,so I told him if he wants we can order some hedders and asp pulleys tomorrow so Im pretty sure we are goin to.Dads truck is an 02 ext.cab Z71 with the 5.3.His mods are a K&N FIPK,throttlebody spacer,HPP III,and borla exhaust.I was happy that he outran a 2wd though.The guy he raced had exhaust so he knows it was a 4.8 or a 5.3.What can we do to his truck except for a blower and nitrous?He also does not want to tear down into the engine at all either so we are limited what we can do.He just wants bolt ons.Thanks for the help guys

Arizona speed & Marine (ASM) headers.
ASP pulleys.

TOG or ASM headers will make a nice difference. More power over the whole powerband.
ASP two pulley set will work well too...make sure to order the 1.75" alternator pulley to limit charging problmes.
Sell the HPP3 for a Diablo Predator. The Predator will add more power over the HPP3 and adjust the Torque Managment tables as well as do everything else the HPP3 will and then some!
Yella Terra 1.8:1 full roller rockers will pick up a good amount of power. Whitt1 gained ~10-12rwhp across the entire powerband with the just roller fulcrum SLPs. The Yella's are shaft mounted so they just bolt down. But you will need new springs.
Also a higher stall converter in a large diameter would make a huge difference from a dead stop, and probably from a roll too. Most on here run the Yank 3000 as it still has full lock up and full factory towing capacity.
TransGo shift kits are very nice too. Make the trans shift much cleaner.
Don't forget about electric fans too. Flex-A-Lite's are good but expensive, many 1/2 ton guys (like myself) run the LS1 Camaro fans with a thermostat controller.
