Question Quietest mufflers that still give a performance advantage?

Okay, this has probly been asked a million times. I just can't find the thread that gives me the best answers. I'm looking for a muffler that is give me better performance but that will not drown out the stereo. Flowmasters are the worst mufflers ever built when it comes to interior noise. I'd like something quiet while cruising and sitting still but will shake the walls when I hammer down on it. I got Spintraps on my Camaro and they do the job but that is a true dual system. Who has a 2 in, 2 out or 1 out muffler that will fit the bill? And how much louder will it be if I just gut the cats and throw on a Bullet or other turbo style muffler.
