yes sir it is. where is the air filter located. if it is in the front on the passenger side then it is a 5.3 4.8. if it is in the middle of the fender on the passenger side then it is a 5.7.

The 5.7 was made until atleast 2000 but they were never put in NBS trucks, the confusion comes from 99 model being built both ways OBS and NBS (Classic or old body style and Silverado style trucks) and in 2000 the K3500s were OBS and came with a 5.7 standard (I have one too) Some part places really get confused over this.

That's right, in 99 they still offered the "classic" style truck with a 5.7, and the NBS Silverado with the 4.3, 4.8, and 5.3. When I went to buy my truck, there was only a couple of "classics" on the lot, and they were very ugly colors...hence I drive a 5.3.

A dead giveaway beside the coils and engine appearance is the fact that the 4.8 and 5.3's do not have a distibutor while the 5.7 does.

The 5.7 was made until at least 2000 but they were never put in NBS trucks...
Incorrect again. The Vortec L31 was put into "New Body Style" trucks sold in Mexico.

But we do not live in Mexico and there are a lot of vehicals on the market there and in south america that never see the light of day here so they really do not matter.

you are wrong. there are a lot of mexico trucks out there.

although it is a mess does his engine look anything like this. if it does not then it will have the inlet to the intake in the middle and a distributer.

If this is a truck 350, why does it have aluminum heads?
