Default quick muffler thought

I know mufflers have been beat to death, but I'm considering a new setup. I'm not unhappy with my current aerochamber, but not over joyed with it either.

Wanting something a bit louder, and just different.

I have been thinking about going with a Borla XR1 4.5x7.85x12" 2.5" in/out, THEN I was on Magnaflow's website a few minutes ago and found out that they just released a new race series muffler I had been waiting on. It's a 5x8x6" body oval race muffler 2.5" in/out. I have had magnaflows before and loved the sound, they were just too quiet for my taste, I think maybe the race series magnaflow would sound badass, especially with me still running stock manifolds and cats.

Anyone run one of the Magnflow Race Series Mufflers in any size and/or Borla XR1's. Thought's/opinions?

if the magnaflows you are looking at are a version of the dynomax bullets, don't go with them, my buddy had em on his old burban and they sounded like they were so raspy and popped like crazy

on the other hand, the xr-1s are a sweet choice, same buddy is actually got xr-1s on his 6.0

Have you looked into the Powersticks by Classic Chambered? Tim@EAD is a sponsor on Tech and carries them. They look and sound like the GMMG exhausts on the f-bodies; matter of fact I have one sitting here now and I'm just waiting for the rest of my pieces to come in so I can fab it all up. Check them out www.classicchambered.com

I just bought a 11" magnaflow 4"x9" oval case. I had the 14" case but wanted louder so I bought the 11" case. I am putting it on Friday and will try to get a video comparing the 2 in sound.

+1 on the chambered. Sounds better than anything mentioned here, before or after this post.
I have a cutout just prior to the muffler and open or closed I get plenty of attention. And it does sound damn sweet too. NO raspy crackling or popping. Just my .02...

anyone have a sound bite of the powersticks? I am now intrigued cuz I've been feeling that my Flow is a little quite for me (or Im just used to it) and want something louder without losing power that the super 40 gave me, despite my girlfriend and her mom hear me coming from down the street haha

Well, the Magnaflow isn't a round like the bullets style, its an actual oval, just much shorter.

I haven't seen the classic chambered ones, might have to look into them.

As of right now though I am leaning to either the magnaflow or borla--although I had thought about the SLP Resonator as AP said.
