Default Questions about some mods.

I want to do a few mods, but im not wanting to really waste my money on them if they wont help much for me. Im thinking about getting a set of 1 7/8" headers, but im not sure they would benefit me much. Im currently running 1 3/4 and i think they fit my build pretty good. They might give a tad but i dont know. Also thinking about a larger diameter MAF. Now like i said im not wanting to waste money on these mods, so if they probably wont give much i probably wont do them.

If you have done mods like this let me know how it worked out for you.

Don't waste your money on those mods. If you want to get faster look into lower gears or re stall your converter higher.

I'd like to see proof of that.

stroll your fingers over to ls1tech in the dyno section and search for 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 results. there are plenty of tests showing this.

regency has a ls1 i do believe so the larger primaries will benefit him greatly

I found this one showing no difference and some people in the thread stated they would gain ~5hp up top and loose ~15tq. I'd rather have TQ in a truck.

another with little to no gains...

For the price of most 1 7/8 headers, unless your going with big cubes and FI I wouldn't waste the coin. 1 3/4 are more than adequate for the needs of an NA 346.

I have to agree with Billy on this. Unless Regency is planning on a blower or big doses of nitrous, his pacesetters are doing just fine.

Well i guess first of all i will go ahead and put my lower gears in since ive had em for almost a year and there still in the box!!! Then its off to Futral for a dyno tune. Ive been running a mail order tune from the start and i think a dyno tune will benefit alot and help with a few problems ive been having.

Yes i do have a 228r cammed LS1 with a ported Fast 90 and home ported 243's.

Quik i will look into it some more on tech about the headers

I would recomend installing those gears and putting in a stall and if anything keep your 1 3/4 headers and have them stepped to 1 7/8 i have seen some people do this with some pretty good results.
