Default Questions about Long tube header and exhaust on '03 6.0L

I'm curious what kind of difference long tube headers and a exhaust will have on stock '03 6.0L. I already have a afe cold air intake but thats about it. Is it worth doing, or what kind of results can i expect.

You wont notice any difference below 3000rpms. Above 3000 the first time you punch it you will say "damn." It gives a nice kick in the butt on the top end. But more than anything it's a supporting mod for cam, heads, etc.

Agreed, on this one. Down low you prob won't feel much of a difference, but mid to up top, you will def feel it on stock motor. Get a tune set up for the headers, you will def be able to tell the diff all the way around. Yes I would say it is worth the money..

IMO it's well worth it! some say gains have been seen up to 30rwhp...I think that maybe a little far fetched but 15rwhp isnt out of the question.

Wonder if the same can be said for the 8.1L? Reason I ask is because I readline at 4950 . I am hoping to feel the difference in more than just above 3k. I keep hearing people say to tune for your exhaust. What can you tune other than cleaning up the VE table to allow for better breathing? Serious question cause I dont know.

Can't answer the tuning part of your question, but I'd think that with the larger cubes of the 8.1, you'd feel gains in more of the RPM band depending on what size primaries the headers have. Hopefully someone will chime in with some insight as to what else can be adressed with the tune, as I'm curious too...

Finn86,
I am sorry to jack your thread, but i thought the tuning questions would be pertinant to your thread questions. If you feel otherwise I would be happy to start a new thread about exhaust tuning.

Budhayes,
My primaries are going to be 2".

**EDIT**
And now that i think of it...I am about 99.99% certain i will start an exhaust tuning thread as my the exhaust install date nears..

Those primaries sound pretty healthy and right on par with the amount of cubes you have...I'll bet that you feel an improvement throughout the RPM band
