Default Quest for a 14 second Daily Driver

Here is what I have, a 2003 z71, 5.3 volant CAI, ebay headers, gibson catback, Circle D 3200 converter, 210/218 .531 cam, ls6 springs, 285/70r16 tires(big issue I know), 3.73 gears, probably will go with a Black Bear tune. I bought my cam before my trans died and I bought the converter while it is out. How close will I be with the current setup and what should I do to get closer to my goal. Should I change my cam to a 220 and go with it or will I get there with the current cam and just drive it? I have the parts to go in but I haven't ran it with the cam yet. I have searched and cannot find 14 second trucks with a good description of mods to get to that point. I am open to suggestions before I put it back together. Thanks for any help.

nitrous would get you there easy without changing cams or heads

If you're not there already, a set of 31" or shorter tires will probably get you there...

I would be kinda surprised if it didnt run 14s already.

Some 4.10s or 4.30s would be nice with those tires.

And a little bigger cam would help, you have enough converter for a 220 cam. IMO

Extended Cab, I know shorter tires would help, but it is my daily driver with those tires

I would really like 430 gears but that is a BIG expense that the wife would probably veto, after the trans and converter. I could do the cam cheap enough by selling mine and buying another, since I haven't installed it yet it would not be any more down time for me.

Is the cam in yet? And what do you run with the mods you have now?
