Q: 4.3 trucks

i have 2 friends that have 4.3 trucks both '99 one a GMC and the other a Chevy. the GMC eats coolant <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0"> and the Chevy has done it once, but it hasnt done it since.
the big thing have you guys heard about the v6s eating coolant?

Lower intake gaskets are leaking coolant into the crankcase. Eventually it will ruin the lifters to where they will stay collapsed until the engine warms up, until it warms up the valvetrain will clatter, as if there was a bad lifter.
The intake gaskets can also leak externally and the heater hose quick connect fitting is also prone to leaking.
