Default Pushrods.. What KIND!!

I am going to be putting a cam in TR 220 .551 lift. I know that I need 7.400 length pushrods, but I am wondering if there is any type of pushrod that any of you guys recomend. I have found some trick flows that run about. And two diffrent Comps.

one is:
CCA-7955-16
Pushrods, Hi-Tech, Steel, 5/16 in. Diameter, 7.400 in. Length, Ball Ends, Hardened,

The other is:
CCA-7638-16
Pushrods, Magnum, Chromemoly, 5/16 in. Diameter, 7.400 in. Length, Ball Ends, Hardened

Trick Flows are:
TFS-21407400
Pushrods, Chromemoly, 5/16 in. Diameter, 7.400 in. Length, Ball Ends, Hardened

What do you guys think is the best choice should I stay away from the Chromemoly? Thanks

Almost any 7.4 rod will work. But Id recommend the TR rods. They are just a tad bit longer to make up for a smaller base circle cam. But they are advertised as 7.4" rods.

You won't NEED them with that setup, it's just a recommendation for the LSx motors in general. The pushrods tend to bend/break at high RPM's ( very high like 7000+ ) so most go the chromoly/hardend route. There are also those that shave their heads for more power and require different lengths too.
BTW, most of those who have broken/bent them were M6 tranny folks who missed a shift under race conditions. Most of us truck drivers never see those kinds of RPM's.
