Default push rod question

i got my lq4 together and was checking for the push rod length with a comp 7702 checker below is the pictures show the results one side is a 7.350 push rod and the other is the checker set to 7.400

i'm kinda lost here I purchesed the 7.350 as stock48 advised me when he help with cam info, the engine builder told me the block didnt need much to square it also the machine shop I got the head from said they didnt take much off, When I set the rockers to 0 lash and torque to 22ft-lbs. I'm getting 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns with the 7.350 push rods, with the 7.400's i'm only getting 1/2 to 3/4's of a turn ..........so better pattern with the 7.400 but the right pre-load with the 7.350 push rods?

lq4 stock bottom
317's
tripple 12 cam

from what i read on line the pattern the 7.400 makes is the one I want?

left 7.350 and 7.400 on the right
