Well, my truck shopping is complete! I found the exact truck I was looking for by chance. I had a meeting down in Galveston today, and on the way home I stopped by Gay Pontiac in Dickinson (Gay owns half of Houston Raceway Park). Did some browsing and I found what I was looking for!
GMC Sierra 1500 SLE
Extended Cab 4-door, 2WD, Sportside Bed
Storm Gray/Gray cloth
Optional polished 16" wheels with optional 255 tires
5.3L V8, A4
Limited Slip Differential w/ 3.42 gears
Towing/Hauling Package
Power everything, CD player, etc...
Sticker was $29,866 and I bought it for invoice minus the $2002 rebate! So, I financed just $24,300 at 5.9% for 60 months. Wooo Hooo!
Damn these GMCs look fine! They come with surprisingly alot of features standard
1998 Isuzu Amigo FOR SALE

Oh yeah, it pays to shop on the last day of a month! This was the last day for the $2002 GM rebate, and supposedly the 5.9%/60 month deal is over also.

congrats.
I'm looking for a truck right now. I'm going to test drive a excab and a regular tomorrow hopefully. i wanted the reg cab for less weight but i like the looks alot, and the seats recline more etc. its hard finding a used 5.3 single/short in the dfw area. but there are tons of excabs.
i thought you were going to get a HD or 4wd for haulin the car around?
btw get some pics up!

Brandon, I still love the look of 4x4 trucks, but after thinking about it more seriously, I really don't need the extra drive axle up front. I'd be that guy that owns a 4x4 and never uses it. Also, it was much harder to find a 4x4 or Z71 optioned like this truck, most of them are fully loaded $35K trucks! This truck is more than enough to handle towing an F-body/trailer around, glad I got the towing package and limited slip rearend.
Oh yes, I got into my first race(s) with only 79 miles on the odometer tonight! LOL! Coming down Westheimer there were two ricers racing from redlight to redlight, so I had to join them in the third lane. It was me vs a Ford Focus with a fart pipe and stickers, and a Maxima. Two kills with one race! LOL. I think they were surprised to say the least. Just to rub it in, we all did it again at the next light. These 5.3L trucks move pretty damn well! Anyone know what this truck should run completely stock? I figure high 15s?
Anyone had two races with less than 100 miles on a car? (Hell yes, I was hunting haha)

damn tony, i wish i knew you were looking for a truck last july when i traded mine in on the vette. I got the shaft at the dealer. I would have sold mine for 20k with all the mods (pulleys, headers, cutout, exhaust). Mine had almost all options too. Oh well, congrats on the new truck. It should run 15.5 Bone stock. Mine ran 15.3 with just air raid and exhaust (flomaster muffler with midas pipes) Mine was a fleetside bed which is about 200 lbs heavier than the sportside

LOL Darren! I'd never have bought your old nitrous ***** hahaha. I actually started in their used truck lot and they had a ton of used Z71s and a few 2WD trucks. It actually worked out cheaper per month to buy a brand new one due to the -$2002 and 5.9%/60 month deal. My bed is 200 lbs lighter than the fleetside? AWESOME!!
Kristi, congrats on the new truck! I couldn't resist the specials and new they were ending yesterday. If they didn't have the exact truck I was looking for, I wouldn't have bought one though.
Oh yeah, its raining like hell today here. Its my damn fault too, the dealership detailed my truck last night.
Jason, no BLING BLING wheels dude! I do want a different grill (love the Denali look) and a nice stereo system though. Rims possibly, but probably not any bigger than 17s. Doubt I'll lower the truck either, I like being higher up.
