Default Project quieten

The Corsa system sounded good on my truck to begin with. Stock manifolds and cats, 5.3. Fast forward to now. Dynatech headers, free flow cats, 6.0 and cam. Still pretty tame at cruise, acceptable in cab resonance but stab it and it sounds like a darn Nascar engine. Very raspy and even pops and cracks on decel since the GT7 cam. I get many compliments about it but really want something more mellow.

Anyway I've just ordered a set of Magnaflow resonators. Plan on putting them right at end of the dual exit tailpipes of the Corsa. Should be able to slide the tips onto them and clear everything. Should tame it down. Just hope it doesn't put a larger performance hit on it.

Here are the mufflers/resonators I'm gonna use.

Picked up a set on e-bay for 120 bucks.

Sounds good, I'll be interested to see how much of a difference it makes for you. I had pretty good luck with my single Magnaflow resonator before the Corsa muffler...

Single before the muff would be the ticket IMO Thunders sounds good and TXSilverado had good luck with just putting one before the corsa muff too. Thats the way to go IMO.

Wanting to go really mellow and figure 2 mufflers will still flow well. Possibly a bit better than one before the muffler. Think I can also fab up replacement tailpipes without cutting up the Corsa. 10-15 minutes to swap them back out if I take a performance hit. Could put the original Corsa pipes back on for the track.

Sounds good. Hope to be maybe a bit louder than the after tape. I'll probably do a before and after video. My truck as it is now is much louder than where you started. Almost sounds like there was some volume clipping with the camera?

Some cameras have circuitry that will drop the recorded volume of loud sounds.
