#1
Need to know if I need to reprogram my computer for a 285/75/16. Takin the stock tires off for these can I change it with a Tech 2 or will I need a Hypertech or Micro Tuner and if so which is better. Thanks for all your help.

The 285/75R16 tires are 32.83" tall, what did you have before? You can go to www.4lo.com and check their tire calculator to see how tall the stock tires are. OR you can use this formula,
Tire width x profile x two, ie: 285 x .75 x 2=427.5 then divid by 25.4 and add the rim size.
ie: 427.5 / 25.4 + 16= 32.83.

Your speed will be off. You will need something to change it.

You put in your new tire size, your old tire size and it'll tell you what you speed has been changed to. I think they use 60 mph as a base on the calculator. You'll need a Hypertech or Superchips Microtuner to make the correction your self. OR you can go to the dealer and have them do it but it'll be a one time shot, no adjustments. With the tuners you can change it as many times as you want to tire sizes. Plus, you get the added benefit of shift point changes, performance tuning, etc..
