posi vs. locker
#1
well, i have a factory posi in my truck right now.
but i was wondering what the difference would be in traction going from that to say, an eaton mechanical locker?
also, whats the diff in performance between a eaton or auburn posi and a eaton locker??
thanks
bryan
*edit* also, how hard is it to install one of these? just a couple bolts and pull the old one out and slip this one in pretty much? or more?

Man I hate to link this but here some discussion on posi units we had over there. LINKAcouple of good things pointed out were basically Auburn was the favorite although non repairable, Eaton is good (BTW, I think the stock GM posi is an EATON) and Powertrax is undesirable. I like my Auburn IEATRICE

IEATRICE???? who the heck is that?
so an auburn wouldnt really be much better than a stock gm posi though right?
thanks for the link, looking at it now

If you have a stock unit then I would make changing it low on the priority list. If you plan a gear change, might as well go for it, the labor would be about the same to do both if someone else does it.
