Porting a truck intake

Does anyone port the TBSS truck intakes? Any gains to be had? Id like to build a 408, mostly for towing purposes.

There was a guy that did them. Think the name of his company/website was LS2portworks.

search around on the TBSS forum. there are a few companies out there that claim some decent gains by porting the LS2 intake. not trying to push you away from this forum....just your odds of finding info over there are alot better since they run more LS2 setups over there than we do over here.

Cory no longer does the TBSS intakes. There was a problem with keeping them sealed up after cutting open to port and then glueing it back together. I think they did show some decent gains especially on one with heads and cam. I think it varied between 10 - 15 hp if I remember correctly. Cory does really good work and I don't believe it was his fault as far as quality with the sealing problem , more just whatever adhesive was available wasn't holding well soemtimes. There are some out there he did that have had no problems with. I am pretty sure the TBSS intake is worth 8-10 hp or so over the stock truck intakes on 06 and older as I think that is the same intake they used on the 07 and up 5.3. I would probably just have someone port the intake runner ports where they meet the cylinder head and the opening at the throttle body and you could probably see soem gain with minimal effort without running the risk of sealing problems later. There are a few out there for sale every now and then that have been ported. Like they said look on tbssowners.com.

Thanks guys. How big of a job is it to fit a TBSS intake to my 2000 2500?
