Default ported and coated manifolds pics

Manifolds I spent a little time with. Made a little difference I think.

How much weight do you think you shaved off too those manifolds are heavy.

not much. I dont think all the bungs and what I ported amount to hardly any weight.

The porting was easy; shaving off the heat shield bungs was a PIA.

Did you do this for looks or is there some performance benefit? When doing a turbo is it beneficial to port them (or clean them up) and have them coated? I would think that you would want the heat sheilds with a turbo?

Does anyone know the bolt size for the manifold bolts (bolts that connect the manifolds to the Y pipe)???? I thought the bolts would come out with an impact but I guess 300lb/ft isnt enough . I need to get nuts to secure them to the new Y pipe. I went over mine (manifolds) with a wire brush, then a wire attachment on the drill and finally a wire toothbrush before washing them and cleaning them up. They dont look as nice as these^^^ but I coated them with high temp engine enamel and then a couple coats of 1200* Ceramic paint. That should at least keep the rust from coming back.

They look fantastic I would be really curious to see if there is any gain performance wise and heat wise to doing what you did.. seeing if underhoods stay down a bit.
