i have tried to search but had no luck..
i have been told that the stock exhaust pipe size is 2 7/8", but i have also been told its metric? can anyone give me an exact size? 2000 silverado 5.3 ECSB.

im fixin to order a magnaflow muffler to replace my stock muffler, and just wanted to know what size inlet and outlet to get?
im was lookin at Part #10426 (aluminized 4"round, 18"length, 24" overall.i can get it for $59shipped) but thats a 2.5 in and 2.5 out. i dont want it to go inside the pipe i want it to go over the stock pipe.
but the only muffler with a 3"in\out is part #12649 and its a 6"round.
what yall think i should do??
im open to any suggestions just dont want to spend alot$$

 

3" in and out a muffle shop will be able to weld it on

 

I am getting an oval Magnaflow muffler. Here is the link. It should work well with offset/center. You need 3", it is easy to weld up.

DAMN DAMN DAMN. I asked this question on another site about three nights ago and was told it was metric about 2.5 I ordered my magnaflow the next day, now I see on this site it wont fit. DAMN DAMN DAMN.
