Sorry to see this Randy.

If it were me I would not reuse that crank, turned or not. For that much bearing to be missing the crank had to be doing some serious flexing. It has probably suffered metal fatigue at a microscopic level.

i would second that motion. i know that it seems expensive to get another crank, but i would rather have the assurance and less money now, rather than a reoccurance of this and even less money later b/c of this again.

Youll be fine just put it back together with some slick 50 and you should be good to go.

What caused the problem? Was it an oiling issue or a clearance issue?

Damn it man!!!!! I am really pissed off for you! I mean if you do the work yourslef then you can blame yourself but if you pay a some what reputable shop and they make you pay for labor again when there is even a small chance it was their fault thats just wrong! Good luck buddy!

I guess today I will see what my cost is on a new crank. Only bad thing is I willl also have to get the rotating assembly rebalanced. I was hoping to keep the top end together,but I guess it will have to come completely apart.
