keep this updated in the southern section if you dont' mind. i'm having some ideas floating around for my 6.0 and i was thinking of a weiend(sp) intake. i'm still looking at the typhoon intake. and i have heard someone is making a sheet metal intake just for the trucks but i can't find anything as of yet.....

not to hijack the thread but what do you guys think nitrous would do with a aluminum intake vs the composite. i think it would cool the **** out of it.

well composite might cool down quicker, but the allum. would be alot colder with the NOS.

Not sure what its going to do, it might hurt my times then again never know untill you try.

haven't dynoed the new cam yet, would like to before i do put the intake on, but not sure I want to spend the 75 bucks for a couple of pulls then pay 75 after its done, then again i wont know for sure if I don't lol

will probably do track test before and after install. its cheaper lol

I have kind of a lame question, this is also a hijack.I know the answer but I will ask you.Can someone put a N/A 5.3 RCSB into the 12s for $2K or less in mods? Reason i ask is I have been taking a thrashing over at the Dodge forum saying no way, actually its one or two .Looking at your mod list $2K should be easy if you shop it hard and of couse you do all your own work. What say you?

I hate to say this but that intake sucks. That is the first intake I put on my truck when I swap to a car style intake. I didn't pick up enough hp to make up for the massive loss in torque and how badly it gets heat soaked. But it will hold one hell of a direct port kit.

I have heard taht for vettes, they actually see a loss going to the AL intake from the plastic due to heat soak. Is someone just blowing it up my you know what?

If I had to guess
150 nitrous wet shot used on ebay $350 (Bought it)
3200 PI Vigilanti Stall used on ebay $300 (almost bought it too but missed by $25)
Custom cold air intake (not sure) maybe $60
Slightly used cam $190 (Bought it)
Slightly used Z06 Springs $35 (bought it)
3.73 or 4.10 gears $190 new, install from $200 to what $400
Tune $350 to $450
thats $1,475 to $2,000
And I would say on a Regular cab with a 5.3 i bet 12's would be easy with that combo for less than $2,000
