Link to pics of my recent Caltrac Bar installation.

The bars are silver because I had them Jet hot coated, They come powder coated black from Calvert.

Gauges- genuine GM part.
There what came in a 02,Cadilac Escalade. Direct swap,
Remove dash besel, 4 srews and unplug one wire harness and screw the new cluster in.
I bought it locally in NY and had them program the mileage in. Cost around $300 bucks.
www.unitedradio.com
www.tbyrne.com sells them to and so does www.jpcustoms.com

As far as the Caltrac bars after 2 days I feel I can comment on there Street performance.
The ride didn't get any stiffer.
Gone is the wot, around corner wheel shutter.
Wot blast on wet pavement give no signs of wheel hop or suspension shutter.
I didn't make it to the track so I can't see if my 60 decreased, but at a couple wot runs The rear end felt like it was biting down alot more.
What do you guys think, I thought there would be more interest in the bars? Than again I hope everyone is out enjoying the weekend and not infront of a computer.

I just installed mine yesterday so I will be testing them today, after going through that 5 hour task I was too tired and nasty and my nuckles were too beat up to want to test them. Getting those stock rubber and metal pieces out of the spring and pressing in those aluminum ones were a major pita. I also had to change out the hangers because of the djm 2/4 drop kit so that was another pita. I hope that they work, because even if they dont I will not be taking them back off. We will get to hear more about it when the group purchase people start putting theirs on. I wouldn't suggest trying to do this job by yourself. I will let you all know the results sometime tonight.

Well I tested them out this morning. They stopped the wheel hop I was having, as far as traction goes there is still a traction problem, not quite as bad but Im still spinning away power. They do really plant the rearend better as you get on it the rear rises. I did notice that now the truck pulls while its spinning from takeoff, instead of just sitting there and spinning in one place. Also I think it helps my g80 lock much better off the line. With them locked in, the ride is not harsh but it decreased suspension travel so it is a little bit more bumpy, but I think you will get use to it after a couple of hours of driving it. I think that they are definately worth it especially with the group purchase that is going on right now.

I brought mine to a spring shop and they wern't interested in pressing them out but told me That they usually melt them out? So I Ended up taking a torch on low heat and melting the front rubber bushing out. Once it got hot enough it poped out. I than ended up removing that metal sleave that was left with a hammer. The aluminum bushing supplied by Calvert Racing slide right in. I couldn't get it to fit if I had left the sleave in. I also have Hotchkis leafs so That might have made a differance. There was a little play but once I got it on it went away. As far adjustment and preload I used the very bottom holes and a piece of paper to see when The bracket made contact with the leaf spring.
As far as afermarket front hangers I was told by Calvert they need to be modified if they can even work at all.
