performance drop kit?

i'm gonna be dropping the truck 2/4 in the coming weeks...(months)and am wondering which drop kit is the best and offers the most performance handling/launch characteristics. is there such a thing? i know some drop kits feel mushy, which i don't want...and some feel hard/stiff which is what i do want. i know some cal tracs or something like that will be good with the drop also but will the cal tracs work with 2/4 drop? marc, what traction bars do you have on your truck? i was thinking of a gforce or hotchkis kit, you guys give me some feedback.

My Hotchkis kit handles great but dosn't help me out at all on a launch. The stiff suspension dramaticly hinders the weight transfer (squat) which isnt good for traction.
I am thinking the best all around setup for comfortable ride, handling and dragracing would be a DJM kit with adjustable shocks and the hotchkis swabar kit.

What parts would you grab fomr the djm kit?? The weight transfer was my main consern with the hotckis kit? Also what adjustable shocks? I called hal or now qa1 up (great adj shocks) and they wanted 160 a piece for the front and 200 a piece for the rear! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> The shocks arent really made for the application the guy said they would "fit". And on top of that I Had to do a lot of measuring to get that info so it cant be too accurate. I dont think

so, a DJM drop kit with the hotchkis sway bar in the back? what type of traction bar works with a 2/4 drop? anything else...what shocks do most run? i have kyb shocks now.

The only problem I see w/ a 4-6 drop would be if you have a '01 or newer truck, and you are running smaller than stock tire height. The cross member on those trucks is lower, and it will scrape. Also tire rub on the fenders is an issue if the tires don't have the correct backspacing. I went w/ the Belltech 2-4 drop (only until I can do airbags <img src="https://ls1tech.com/threads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />), Doestch Tech shocks in the rear, and no c-notch. If you plan on c-notching the frame, I would recommend going w/ a soft shock like the nitro slammers or some other brand. The Doestch Tech's are pretty stiff, but will keep you from bottoming out on the frame most of the time.
