Default Performance from 5.3l

I just bought a 99 chevy with a 5.3l. Currently I am not pleased with the exhaust sound, the power is decent. But could always be better. I have a jesse bubb tune ordered, and an otherwise stock truck. I cut the muffler off today and ran a pipe from the cats out behind the cab. Its just to quiet. Around here to get an inspection sticker this year they must hook you up and the capital determines if you get a sticker. My old truck a 5.8l f250 had straight headers running to 2 inch pipes out to four inch tips behind the cab. I dont want it that loud, But I want to hear it roar and crackle some. What else should I be looking to do, how hard is a cam swap in these efi trucks? Any mileage gains off cams? Im excited about my tunes, what am I in for?

who is jesse bubb.....

and no, a cam will not help your mileage, and as for the muffler, magnaflow is a good choice.

If you cut the muffler off and that wasn't loud enough for you getting a magnaflow isn't going to do anything.

Hope it doesnt screw anything up, his tune should be waiting for me at the mail box. I have read a good number of good things about his tune. Im thinking about just hallowing my cats out with a muffler s/o running behind the rear wheel. I dont like the sound of my current set up, its before the tire and just makes an awful rucuss in the cab. I dont believe I want to put long tubes in this truck, its just to cramped to try and shove them in there.
