Default PCM Programming

I have the LS1 from the 99 Trans AM installed in my 99 Sierra and am getting ready to send the PCM to Fastchips for re-programming. What are the parameters I want them to change/delete.

I am curious about the O2 sensors, especially the ones after the converter. Do I have them delete these?

Thanks,

ts99

Default Re: PCM Programming

The programming will depend on your mods. If you have an aggressive cam, you will want to raise your idle. You will want to up your timing - how high depends on whether you are using nitrous or not. Have them raise your rev limiter to maybe 6500. Have them up your WOT shift points to at least 6000 (also depends on your cam and springs). Have them reduce effects of torque management. Also adjust for non stock tire height and rear end gears.

You might think about installing some 00+ injectors. Your 99 injectors are smaller than the 00+ injectors. The 00 models are a direct fit replacement, and can be found fairly cheap. You will probably max out the 99s pretty quick with an LS1 in there. They will need to program this in too.

Even if you have the cats on, I'd get them to remove the rear O2 sensors. If the sensors ever go out, or you remove your cats, you won't get a light. Don't mess with the front sensors.
