He did not paint it though. It was that way when he got it. The privious owner had it painted a metal flake mystic color.
I just got another 10lb from a guy and I am thinking of painting mine blue to match the truck when I redo my sub enclosure and put the bottle in the cab.

Same rules apply if you have it baked. Actually that is worse than blasting. Just have it hydroed when you are done for good measure. Anytime we get scuba tanks in the diveshop for airfils that are other than manf. colors we always ask if it has been blasted or placed in an oven. Althought scuba tanks get 3x the pressure of a N2O bottle, it is a good safty precaution.

i know for a fact with air tanks for scba on my dept. if its scraped bangged or scratched we Hydrostaticly test it. i would shy away from powdercoat, do to the 400+degree baking temp, which can cause damage to the tank via metal expansion caused by the heat, which can risk a posible rupture when filling the bottle from the friction of the N2o moving into the bottle. I would recomend a wet sand of 600grit followed by Primer (Optional) Base coat, then clear coat
