Paging BIG TEX!!!!!

Tex i need your help again Im lookin at this setup for my crazy turbo motor. Now if you remember or not I have the 5.3 iron block. I am having it honed aligned and bored to 3.900-.903. I also have the LS1 heads with new manley valves, springs and retainers, hardened pushrods 7.400, stock rockers 1.7, and i am going with JE dished pistons for a 8.3:1 CR. I just bought a block off another member and it is the 5.7 aluminum block which he had bored to 3.900, and he also has RODS which are billet steel 6.125 but they were bought for a 4.000 crank, pistons and rings, and Main bearings.
What i need to know is will the rods fit my 5.3 once i have it bored, honed, etc. and will the main bearings and crank work for me also???? THanks for your help boss

OK OK, lets see....
What crank? You didn't say anything about what crank you are going to run.
The rods may work. Its going to depend on your new pistons, which could be press fit pins like the stock rod or floating pin like most aftermarket rods. Also the piston needs to have its pin height set for the crank and rod length you are going to run. So if you ordered pistons for use on a certain rod, and the new rods are a different config, then its not likely that they will work properly. Its all about proper geometry and the main variable to adjusting the geometry is setting the pin height on the piston.
Main bearings should be fine.

Ok lets see he has a 4.000 crank (lunati) but this is in a 5.7l. I want to see if that crank will work for me!!!??? And if not, will the rods that he has for that 4.000 crank fit my 3.622crank????
Second the rods are 6.125 billet pro mod, these were bought specifcally for the 4.000 crank and pistons that were for a bore size 3.900. I want to make the bore size on my 5.3l about the same 3.903at most. I havent bought any pistons yet!!???

If you bought a 4" crank, 6.125 rods, and pistons matched to the set, you should be fine. If the bearings have been used in the other motor, I would buy new ones. You need to take that rotating assembly to a good machine shop, have the pistons measured, and then have them bore your 5.3 out to the needed diameter for those pistons. Then get new cam bearings pressed in and new main bearings installed with the stroker kit.

Excellent you are the man i knew youd have an answer!!
Ok so all i need to do is bring the 5.3block, 4"crank, 6.125 rods, and Pistons all to the machine shop here and then they can make the correct bore and all!!!?? And I have new cam bearings and the mains on his block are brand new never been ran so ill take those!!! And im set to go????Thanks again TEX
