I figured I'd start a new post so I didn't hog the "cam" post

If I could find a decently priced set of Aluminum 6.0 heads I would probably stick with them instead of the Absolute Speed LS1 heads, the problem I am having is that poeple want over a grand for STOCK heads....with STOCK springs and valves, if I could find a set of stockers for $500-$600 I would jump on them and build those up with Porting, Milling LS6 springs and YT rockers

 

Thats right, you have iron heads dont you. I will keep an eye out for some. I seen a couple sets in the local trader the last few weeks. Taht would save you a lot of money. I seen a set of CNC ported 6.0 heads on Ebay today. But they were 1000.

 

the Iron heads are supposed to make the same power as the Auminum ones.....but the machine work is harder and more expensive, I also have an exhaust manifold bolt broken off in the passenger side head (1st bolt on the manifold) and really don't want to screw with getting it out and retapping the hole (yeah...I'm lazy)

If I could find a set of CNC'd Iron heads I would probably buy those as well...they would be MUCH cheaper than Aluminum and the machine work would already be done

 

I have a set I'm working over. If I ever get them finished and do the swap, I'll sell my Silverado SS LQ9 take off heads. 2400 miles and counting on them so far.

not a problem....I saw the head post and made an offer, however I just spent $16,000 yesterday on a new fifth wheel and killed the bank account so it's gonna take me a month or so to rebuild the "play-money"
