Default Pacesetters vs Dynatech???????

I'm curious as to which header is the best for an 06 vho chevy that will see a cia, tune, B&B exhaust and possibly a magnacharger down the road.

Price
Fitment
Quality
Gains

For those who have used either, a little feedback would help alot.

Dynatech headers if money is no factor. I did alot of looking at B&B exhaust. The f-body crowd does not like their mufflers. Gains sucked from the reading I did.

i have a set of hamm headers and the fitment is great. performance seems on par with all the others but they are mid lengths. i also have a set of pacesetters waiting for install to help with top end. they seem to be well built. if buying new i would be happy with my choice. not sure on the other ones you listed but they look nice in pics

Except for the #5/#7 plug wire fitment, I have no complaints about my Dynatech's. The price is high, but it is a full replacement system in stainless. Good quality. Don't know what gains I got.

Dynatechs if you have the $$$ to spare. By far, a lot better quality than the Pacesetters.
They come with cats, and is a full bolt-on kit. No modifications needed. Will bolt right up to your aftermarket cat-back "system" or O.E. cat-back system.
You did ask which was of better quality right? Dynatechs!

Price: $1400
Fitment: Great
Quality: Excelent
Gains: 20 hp + with proper tuning.
Either which one you choose, get them Jet-Hot coated to keep the under hood heat down. It protects the metals as well due to the outside and inside of the headers being coated.
Good Luck Debating!

Jim

Personally, although I don't particularly worry about cost as much as I should, Dynatechs are nice pieces - for sure, but cost way too much for what you get, IMHO. I look at this way, for the $1000+ I save by going with Pacesetters (assuming coated Dynatechs and coated Pacesetters), I could spend that extra and get custom mandrel bent pipe to finish out my exhaust and still have money left over. Then again, mine is 3" from collector to my muffler.

I have seen one system installed and for sure didn't like how the plug wire situation was. The other thing was how difficult they made it to change your back plugs. It may have been something as simple as using a universal, but this guy couldn't even change the back plugs with the tools he had. Fitment for 4WD/AWD hasn't been too good. One guy on the SS site had to send his back, others used a really big pry bar to keep it from hitting parts. To me that is just poor design and improper research. Enough to keep me away, despite the price, or next generation fixes. You don't always get what you pay for.

As far as quality of Pacesetters go, this my second set of headers for this truck. The first was Arizona Speed and Marine. Most would consider them as very high quality pieces, even me. To date, not having the Pacesetters all too long, I can say that I believe these headers are of much higher quality than the ASMs. My opinion could of course change over time.

Not to down anyone who has them. Just my opinion of the two products.

Though, assume you want a legal exhaust system like I do. The Dynatechs are by far the easiest to bolt-on and go in that particular situation.

StainlessWorks aren't a consideration? They fit 03 and up without question, and I have a set on my 99 the just squeezes in there with some slight rubbing on one of the pass side primaries...last I heard they were working on that issue.

Very true, but I could purchase my own cats and go custom at least as far back as the Dyntech system does for less. It may be worth it for some for the reason you mention alone. Just wasn't for me.
