Default Pacesetter Y pipe users ?

Where does the y pipe cross under your tranny?Use the pan as a point of reference. Is it in the middle of pan, rear of pan or totally behind the pan?
thanks

Rear of the pan. Farther up than the stock pipe did, enough on my truck to have to remove it to change trans filter. Original pipe I could leave it on and squeeze it past.

Yeah, the one I just put one is totally behind the trans pan.

A side note on the headers, after having gone thru 2 sets, I know exactly what to look for in the future. It really would have been nice if Pacesetter would have put the 02 bung on the passenger side farther up the collector so that a band clamp can fit on that joint

GMCtrk-Do you think you could take the tranny pan down without removing the y pipe?

I never could with my Y pipe, the factory one would be close, but not a chance with the Pacesetter one, always had to pull it for a trans fluid change.

I just put PS headers and ORY pipe into my 2003 truck. I had trouble with removing the oil pan to replace defective 1-2 shift solenoid and oil/filter. Transmission shop removed the mufller/tailpipe but couldn't remove the Y-pipe from the headers. Slip joint was pain in the ***. Had to drive it out to muffler shop with no muffler/tailpipe, too much noise. They had to heat the slip joint with torch and hit with hammer to get the Y-pipe then drove it back to transmission shop to do work then they put back the Y-pipe and muffler/tailpipe. Took all in all 3 hours instead of 30 minutes.

Pacesetter should have done a better job had they put flanges between the headers and y-pipe.

I think I am going to weld flanges between the headers and Y-pipe to make removal as easy as unbolting 3 bolts/nuts.
