Default Pacesetter results

Ok, the results are in. I installed my Pacesetter longtubes last week, I am very pleased with the results of the sound of the truck, they got rid of all the rasp and crappy sound, but I am not sure of any performance gains. At the track I normally run at, I have ran a best of 9.46. I went to another track today, which I have run before, best of 9.60, and the best the truck ran was a 9.55. Every time I have ran at this track, I have been very consistantly .2 tenths faster. So I was hoping to run in the 9.2X range. It just did not happen, the truck seems like it has lost a little bottom end TQ. I am not disappointed by any means, the sound is great, but I was hoping for a little performance gains as well. Do you think I might need to have my ECM re-tuned for the longtubes. I don't think that would do very much, but I sure would like to see the 500 bucks I spent on the LT,s give me a little more at the track. Any Ideas!!

I ordered my Wester's tune after my LTs were installed so I don't know if tuning is necessary for you. I'm curious, do you have a single or dual exhaust? What size pipes?

What was your MPH during those runs vs without the headers?

I have the stock 2.75 single exhaust, from the custom y pipe back. MPH was right at 75 on the 9.46, I don't really know what the MPH was today, the track is small and does not show anything but the ET. They don't even give you a time slip unless you go to the tower and get it, then you have to walk over and dig through a stack and find yours so I did not get one. The pcm has been in the truck for about 3 months so I know it has had time for the re learn period. I think I will have the pcm sent in for a new tune just to make sure every thing is good. I am going to have the factory pcm tuned for my current mods, right now I have a different pcm in that I got from Jesse, and I have the SES light on for the crank position sensor relearn. The dealer wants 65 bucks to reset it, and I can get Jesse to tune the original pcm for 35 bucks I think. I will try it and see what happens. And I will go to my normal track so I can get some more acurate numbers. Thanks for the input.

You may have lost torque and consequently lost time in the 1/8th but would gain hp and probably have improved times in the 1/4.

You are goin to want to get that retune very soon.It will help more than you know.Your motor is tuned for a stock exhuats setup and now you are letting alot more through the system.Even with the stock exhaust after the y-pipe you should be getting alot more power than that.
I did my exhaust/headers last...i still had better 60ft times and.2tenths fast quarter mile times. This was the last mod i did and as we all know the more power and mods you get the faster you go =the less differance a single mod can make in the end.So basically if i ahd done them first instead of last they mgiht have dropped me more like 4-5 tenths.
I also never lost any bottomend torque. So i would get it retuned soon bro.

I also recommend a retune. It could probably be leaned out.
