Ok, Devils advocate here......If logic dictates an increase in HP/TQ with LT's over a quality set of shorty's and allowing for 10% variation on dyno's why is it that those running LT's aren't making substantially better #'s?

I would like to put this argument to rest ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Everyone send me $10 each so I may purchase a new set of Dynatech's and get them installed and dyno'd using the same equipment. Only variable will be the headers.

Please PM me for my personal name & address.

Shorty headers aren't much if any better than stock manifolds. You might gain 5-10 hp on Long Tubes possibly more depending on how free flowing your cat back is.. and nix on the $10..:-)

you people are just trying to get free LT's. if i went to the dyno now(assuming the truck will run fine) my only variation would be the LT's. are you assuming a tune update for the LT's comes with the mod or were you gonna dyno the LT's without a tune?

I don't agree. When I had my JBA shorties on my GMC 5.3, they made a big difference in HP and TQ. I had the truck dyno'd before and after the headers. I had an increase of 17lbs of TQ and 16 HP. They may not get what they claim, but you will see a pretty good increase. People will argue the fact between the two all day long. I read alot of problems with the LT's on here. Not to say the LT's aren't any better, but the shorties are good too. Just depends on which ones you buy. Borla are suppose to be the best for GM, but they don't come in ceramic coating. I also would like to see a dyno comparison. And Trever, I sent you 10 bucks.

I had Gibson shorties for about 5 years and didn't feel any power increase from the factory manifolds (SOTP meter). I did feel an increase over the shorties when I installed my StainlessWorks long tubes though...it's the lt's w/ catted y-pipe...not sure how much the high flow cats added to the increase felt in my SOTP meter.
