ive gone through my photobucket. i used to have a photo of just that to show how low they hung..i must have deleted it..they were above the trans crossmember though..the crossmember would drag before the headers/ypipe ever did.

xcoolpix,

Did you have the stock tranny crossmember? I raised mine so that its even with the frame rails. Do you remember if the LT's hung below the frame rails very much? If they did, do you remember how much? Thanks.

oops. i failed to mention that im on a 01+ factory auto crossmember that hangs below the frame rails. I don't recall exactly how low they hung below the rail. I know my ypipe was nearly even with the bottom of my crossmember. If you've sectioned/raised yours, I imagine that it will bottom out since you're at the same height as me. I'll go take a pic really quickyl. I no longer have the pacesetters. I do have thorley tri-y's. Not exactly the same but you can get an idea.

Here you go man.
Mine are black (& mud) colored
you can see the pic with the tape is taken right across the 2 frame rails.
To me it looks like the Y pipe is 5/8" max below the frame rails.
This would only be true if you actually cut and ground off every trace of the tranny crossmember.
The headers do not hang below the frame at all.
sorry for the mess, still trans fluid all over from the shift kit install.

thanks so much you guys. I was supposed to go to the track Fri. night, but I had to work that night and Sat. morning. Iwas working til 11:00 last night, so this is the first time I got to check the posts. Thanks again for the pics. As far as clearing the frame, in those pics it looks pretty close. I had my exhaust and xmember raised when I did the drop, and since I fixed the chevy lean, my truck sits a little lower. My frame hits everywhere now, so I need to think about how to raise the pacesetter ypipe, so it will clear. In the pics it only looks like about an inch hangs below the frame rails, so I might be able to get that to work.

Fresno FTW! I've been really thinking about the frame clearance on the ypipe for the past few days. If the headers themselves don't hang below the frame, I'm thinking about having a muffler shop try to bend or cut/weld the ypipe and raise it so it doesn't hang below the frame. I've been driving my truck in my ranch this week, and the frames been hitting everything out here, so that ypipe has to tuck up above the rails.

Moddoo, do you know how much clearance you have between your ypipe and transmission? That would let me know how much I can have that ypipe raised. Thanks in advance.
