Default Pacesetter LT's?

I see a lot of people running the pacesetter longtubes on thier gm trucks, and I was curious about the fit and how the coating weathers.

I am in the market for a set of LT's for a custom dual setup on an 04 GMC RCSB 5.3 A4, so any brand that you have had experience with would be helpful at the moment.

Any help is appreciated, Jimbo.

I helped install some. the ceramic coated ones hold thier finish well. the worst part about them is the fact that they don't have flanges, all slip joint - the clamps that come with them are very good.

I was wondering about that. I just got off the phone with a summit rep looking for some with ball type fittings. No luck there.

Any leakage with the slip ons?

yeah the clamps seal them really good to the piping... but if you ever need to take those headers off for something.... you are going to want to kill yourself when you try to seperate the pipe from the headers

yep.

they leak, then you tighten them some more, they leak, then you tighten them some more.... then they stop leaking. Then white1 blows his tranny the following night after the install and the y-pipe is crimped to the headers from the cheesy u-bolt style clamps. You'll be ready to just take a cutting wheel to it to remove the y pipe by the time you are done.

Are those the band clamps with the single nut that you tighten?

I really want to know how that goes... I haven't even considered LT's because I don't want to pay the price of the flanged systems and I know that the u-bolts suck. If it works well for you I may have to get some soon.

I've had good luck with the band clamps on other items. I hope they seal well on these. I can't stand trying to get reducers out after u-bolts have been used.
