Got my Pacesetter yesterday FINALLY!!! I just got done installing them. They are GREAT! OH ya for all you guys wondering if they fit the 6.0L and the 4L80E, they do. I did however end up cutting a corner off of the bellhousing so they wouldn't rub. Nothing huge just a little bit. I installed the headers ond y-pipe. I did cut off the end of the y-pipe and increased it to 4" and ran it back just before the rearend and dumped it. Sounds GREAT. Although it is really really loud. I only put a 4" bullet muffler on it.

I am 2wd. I don't have any pics now but I sure can get some. I will try and take some tomorrow. I don't think they could have fit much better. Now I am just waiting for a loud exhaust ticket. I am sure I will get one soon. I hope not. (knock on wood).

 

My truck looks the same as yours. Minus the wheels and such. I probably cut off about 5-8 inches off the back of the y-pipe and then added i think 55" of 4-inch pipe then the muffler and turn down.

 

How is the fit to on the passenger side frame rail? How close is the bottom primary from the frame rail? What does it look like from the bottom?

 

And as far as time goes it only took maybe 4 hours tops. That's with makin a trip to Peterbilt for a 4" band clamp

 

Its probably 3 inches away from the frame rail at the most. They only thing it touches is the bar that goes across for the center bearing for the driveshaft. And thats only because I can't bend the 4 inch. But for guys running anything smaller you should have no clearence issues.

 

Sounds like you guys know these headers alot better than i do. If I get the y-pipe and the o2 sensors, how will that effect my gas mileage. I am currently getting 17 mpg in the city and would like to keep it that way. I am planning on ordering some of these headers soon and would like to know which would be better for gas mileage. Thanks
